For our filming we used the schools Canon digital video camcorder MD101. These were easy to use and easy to transport from school to the location. With these we also used a tripod to balance the camera on so that we had no 'shaky' recordings, we realised some of our recordings were shaky due to them being recorded hand held. We inserted a DV tape to record our footage on which had to be rewound to make sure we didn't record over previous footage we had recorded. Also before every shot be held a piece of white paper in front of the camera to make sure the tone and white balance was correct.
Uploading our footage was easy to do, we used a USB lead and connected it to the MAC at school which connected it to iMove, we then had to click 'import', before this we checked the DV tape was rewound to the begging.
When filming our rough idea our camcorder ran out of battery leaving us to use a phone camera to film most of it, this resulted in it being poor quality but ensured us that next time we had to charge it before we went to film.
