Initial Ideas

Initial Ideas for opening two minutes of my film

The film opening starts with a close up shot of the school bell ringing. Next shot is a medium close up of a girl in sixth form sat in a class with her head leaning on her hand and looking into space, signifying she’s bored.

The next shot is a medium close up of a boy, same age, in a different class doodling and looking at the clock, signifying he’s bored as well. The next shot is an over the shoulder shot of what he’s doodling, and then a close up of the drawing which is of himself sat at a desk in cartoon form.

The next shot is the diagetic sound of the school bell and the boy getting up, picking up his bag and leaving the text book.

The next shot is the girl going into the classroom which the boy was just in, this is a tracking shot of her walking into the classroom and sitting down at the same desk, then there is a medium close up of her opening the book and flicking through it trying to find the page she’s meant to be looking at, then a close up of her face to show her expression when she sees the drawing in her book, then a medium close up showing her get a red pen out of her pencil case and then an over the shoulder shot showing her doodling herself next to the boy on the drawing, Then a medium close up shot of the girl’s expression which is happy and smiling.

The next shot is a tracking shot of the boy sitting down, this is the next day and the boy sits in the same seat, the girl left the book and the boy flicks through it to find his drawing this is shown through a medium close up shot of the boy. Then a close up shot of the boy’s expression which is surprised but amused, he then draws on the picture a question mark.

The next shot is a tracking shot of the boy leaving the classroom where he’s left the text book and when he walks out of the door he walks straight past the girl, this is a medium close up of the two in a crowded corridor, this shot is slow mode and shows the boy and girl walking in separate directions in the busy corridor, this scene fades out slowly with non diagetic music becoming louder which has been playing quietly all the way through the begging scenes, and the title of the film appears in over the transition between the two clips.
